LIGHT WORKS

The light boxes are my own version of stained glass.

The light boxes are improvisations with color and light and constructed with monotypes (oil on polypropylene) depicting landscapes. The monotypes are punctured with cut shapes and collaged with colored gels.  Some are illuminated by sunlight and some by LED.

The work addresses the audience in both sensual and symbolic ways, inviting them to experience the emotional resonance of color seen through light, its historic associations with religion and spirituality, and its ability to be didactic and sensory at the same time.
